Various Artists – Wallflower – 20 Great Versions

A song written and recorded by Bob Dylan in 1971, its writer’s version was only released 20 years later, in 1991, on the first “Bootleg Series” release (Vol. 1-3) (track #1 here).

The first released version was by Doug Sahm in 1972, on his first solo LP after leaving The Sir Douglas Quintet. Actually, it is a duet with Bob Dylan singing backing/second lead vocal on that version (track #2 here).

An alternate version by Bob Dylan from the 1971 sessions appeared in 2013 on “The Bootleg Series Vol. 10 – Another Self Portrait” (track #20 here).
